The cricketing icon himself shared the news with his fans, posting a story on his Instagram account to provide a sneak peek into his preparations at the NCA ahead of the Asia Cup.
Kohli, along with the rest of Team India, is set to participate in a comprehensive training camp at the NCA in Bengaluru in the lead-up to the Asia Cup 2023. The five-day training camp commenced on August 24 and will play a crucial role in ensuring the team is in optimal shape for the upcoming tournament. As per ESPNCricinfo reports, the Indian team is scheduled to travel to Colombo for the Asia Cup after the training camp concludes.
The Asia Cup 2023 team for India has already been announced, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has meticulously outlined a program to ensure the players’ fitness during the two-week break for those who were not part of the Ireland series.
To enhance their fitness levels, the players are required to maintain a disciplined routine, which includes getting a minimum of 9 hours of sleep, engaging in gym workouts, walking, practicing yoga, swimming, and consuming a specific amount of protein daily. The BCCI’s efforts are aimed at ensuring that all players maintain peak fitness over the next three months, enabling them to perform at their best in both the Asia Cup 2023 and the ICC World Cup.
With the impending Asia Cup 2023, the Indian cricket team has a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their batting order and address any tactical challenges before the highly anticipated ICC World Cup 2023. Additionally, players returning from injuries will have a chance to regain their form and rhythm, making the Asia Cup a vital stepping stone toward success in the global cricketing arena.
